Burning Complete - Sewing Begins

This week I have spent lots of time burning the edges of my eco-dyed silks and vintage papers to give them a distressed feel. The burning is now complete and I am starting to layer and sew the pieces to the background fabric. I'm using a sketchy style of imperfect outlines to add to the distressed, burnt and ripped theme. The silk pieces are now sewn on and I'm waiting for glue on the 1st paper layer to dry before adding more machine stitching and more layers of paper and fabric. It's lucky that the lines are supposed to be imperfect because I'm incapable of sewing straight and I hate measuring!
